Three Stages Down -- Five to Go YongShou -- Fri, Jul 22, 2005 We have made it through three stages, five volunteer days, food poisoning, and the start of mountain climbs. We have raised over $6,000 and have spread awareness to well over 4,000 people (still working on updating that number on the web site).
Few things I want to highlight:
1) Pictures have been uploaded: view them at http://www.biketheworld.org/gallery/ I think Stage 3 has some particulary good photos.
2) View the updates on the site at http://www.biketheworld.org -- click on the various stages to see the updates for that stage -- some good stories from Stage 3 and I hope to add more soon
3) First I want to thank everyone for their support. No matter if its $1 or $1,000 -- 10 contacts or 1,000 -- it means a lot to us and really helps us keep going. As you know from watching Lance on the tour, when biking, one needs a good team to be really successful. You guys are our team -- help us get over these mountains and through the desert that are about to come! Keep us going with your support!
4) After every stage we will be recognizing two "Yellow Jersery Supporters" who have raised the most awareness (directly and indirectly) and the most dollars (directly and indirectly). Each Yellow Jersey supporter will receive a gift from along the tour! So let's see who wins stage 4!
The real key to winning is getting your friends involved and encouraging them to donate and spread the word too! So even if you have already donated -- go that extra distance by spreading the word!
I hope to send a list of the first three stage's Yellow Jersery Supporters shortly. The winners usually raised $250 or more and spread awareness to 50+ people. If you are able to do either of these, you just might be a Yellow Jersey Supporter too!
