We will be biking from Shanghai to Korgaz, approximately 5,000 kilometers, starting July 3, 2005 and ending on August 28 (46 biking days and 8 volunteer days). Our path roughly follows the eastern portion of the ancient Silk Road, which today is marked by Highway 312. The route is spilt into eight stages two of which are two day journeys meant for causal bikers who are interested in joining the team (Nanjing to Hefei and Turpan to Urumqi).
